Replacing the short-lived Agave Azul, Harwood Tavern will bring comfort food and cocktails to the space at 333 South Harwood Street.

The restaurant is a new project from the minds behind Green Door Public House near the Dallas Farmers Market, reports CultureMap. Since the closure of Agave Azul, the space has remained vacant, despite the fact that it was “fully outfitted.” "The Agave Azul team did a lot of work on the location, and left a lot behind that we can use," operations manager Dunagin Gaines told CultureMap.

At present, Harwood Tavern is keeping tight-lipped about what will be on the menu, but expect for the restaurant to serve comfort food inspired by old-school steakhouse The Keg, though it will place “a little less emphasis” on cuts of beef. The formerly Spanish-inspired vibe of the Agave Azul space has been renovated to produce an upscale, pub-like vibe.

Harwood Tavern is expected to open its doors sometime in October, though no official opening date has been set.
