— Popular wine bar Sixty Vines is set to open its first location in Dallas proper, which means that local winos will no longer have to make the drive to Plano. Front Burner Restaurants, which also operates Mexican Sugar and the forthcoming Legacy Hall, among other restaurants, is set to open the second outpost of Sixty Vines at The Crescent, in the space formerly occupied by Palomino. Look for it to land in early 2018. [D Magazine]

— Former nightclub Sunset Lounge is being transformed into a “glam” dive bar called The Pretty Diver. The new tenants at 3030 Ross Avenue will serve up “dive bar prices and a dive bar vibe, but not with the usual dive bar crowd.” (Whatever that means.) The bar is expected to open in mid-October, hopefully by October 14, when tens of thousands of college football fans will descend on the city for Texas-OU weekend. [CultureMap]

— SusieCakes, the California based bakery chain, will open its third DFW location in Fort Worth this weekend. SusieCakes will occupy a space in the WestBend Shopping Center, and will celebrate its grand opening with a week’s worth of cupcake discounts. The doors open at 10 a.m. on September 23. [EaterWire]
