While in town for an appearance at the American Airlines Center, pop star Katy Perry worked her way through some childhood trauma at Dallas’ outpost of Medieval Times.

The singer made her way to the Stemmons Freeway outpost of Medieval Times over the weekend. After eating a little chicken with her hands, Perry took to her Instagram stories, where she detailed the “traumatizing” experience that she was looking to overcome. “One of my more embarrassing stories I have from childhood that traumatized me is that when I was very young, I went to Medieval Times, and the guy came over to me and he had a ribbon at the end of his joust,” she says in the video.

Instead of taking that ribbon for herself, the young Katy Perry plopped a dirty napkin basted in chicken grease on the end, inspiring the entire arena of restaurantgoers to laugh at her. Because there is no place (allegedly) more magical than Medieval Times, Perry has the opportunity to make it right with the her knight, all while wearing one of those cardboard crowns.
