Fat Chicken Is Closing at Trinity Groves

The chicken spot made it almost a year at the restaurant incubator

It seems that New Year’s is the end of the line for concepts lately at West Dallas “restaurant incubator" Trinity Groves. Last year, Resto Gastro Bistro closed on January 1 to make way for fried chicken spot Fat Chicken. In 2017, Fat Chicken served its last meals on New Year’s Eve. Trinity Groves just announced the restaurant's closure today.

When Fat Chicken opened in February, it specialized in chicken dishes of all kinds, from southern fried to oven roasted birds along with pot pies and "chickarrones." The restaurant served homemade pies too.

But all things must come to an end as part of the Trinity Groves Incubator Program, and then it’s on to the next.

“We are so grateful for the support and mentoring we’ve received from the Trinity Groves team,” Fat Chicken’s co-owner Linda Mazzei said in a statement. “We put our heart and soul into taking care of customers and creating delicious food. I’m proud of what we built here. That combined with the lessons we’ve learned about what it takes to run a successful restaurant will be invaluable as we embark on our next endeavor.”
