Super Chix Expands to Fort Worth

— Fast-casual fried chicken restaurant Super Chix has announced that it will open its first Fort Worth location at 1217 8th Avenue. The new restaurant in Fort Worth’s Near Southside neighborhood is the fifth for Super Chix, which currently operates outposts in Dallas, Plano, Richardson and Frisco. The Fort Worth restaurant is expected to open in February. [EaterWire]

— Also in Fort Worth dining news, Chef Marcus Paslay’s Clay Pigeon has named Bria Downey as its executive chef. Downey, a graduate of El Centro College’s culinary arts program, formerly served as sous chef at Paslay’s Piattello Italian Kitchen, and has worked at Meddlesome Moth and Bird Café. [EaterWire]

— This week, the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope announced that restaurants across Dallas and Fort Worth raised almost $796,000 during DFW Restaurant Week in 2017. Steakhouses Al Biernat’s and Pappas Bros. raked in the most donations for the charities, and giving was up by 12% over all. DFW Restaurant Week will return in August. [EaterWire]
