Tacos Mariachi, one of Dallas’ best-loved taquerias, will expand from its original West Dallas home to a second location on Greenville Avenue.
The taqueria will set up shop next month at 2020 Greenville Avenue in the space formerly occupied by Crisp Salad Company, GuideLive reports. It was time for an expansion, owner Jesus Carmona tells the paper. His taqueria had already been drawing hoards of loyal regulars, but business was busting at the seams after it was featured on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives this past season. “The line is through the door” whenever the show airs re-runs, he said.
At the new Lowest Greenville spot, Tacos Mariachi’s size will double from the original location, with seating for 70 inside and 20 outside. It will keep the same bright interiors and menu that has consistently earned it a spot on Eater’s maps for outstanding breakfast tacos, delicious aguas frescas, and essential taquerias. When Tacos Mariachi opens in November, diners can snag tacos stuffed with salmon, avocado, and passionfruit habanero salsa; portobello mushrooms and Mexican corn truffle; or marinated grilled octopus, which is always a favorite.
Lowest Greenville has seen a pretty consistent stream of turnover within the last year. Earlier this month beloved Afghan eatery Nora announced it would be moving to Bishop Arts, BBBop Seoul Kitchen shuttered in July, and both Blind Butcher and Pints & Quarts announced the same week this past June that they would close up shop. This stretch of Greenville also welcomed restaurants including a new ‘redneck’ barbecue destination, Laurel Tavern from California, Italian eatery Gallo Nero, and Chinese fusion Gung Ho.
