Castle Hills Village Shops just welcomed two new eateries: Ramen Izakaya Akira and The Grind Burger Bar & Tap Room.

The new arrivals debuted this week at 2520 King Arthur Boulevard in Lewisville. Ramen Izakaya Akira is a Japanese restaurant serving up both tonkotsu and chicken ramen varieties alongside rice dishes, seaweed salad, gyoza, and more Japanese specialities. According to a press release, the ramen simmers for eight hours before being served to guests, and Chef Akira will rotate daily featured items such like a briny sea urchin shooter dressed in Japanese salsa.

The Grind Burger Bar & Tap Room also debuted this week in the same shopping center. It’s the second location after The Grind’s original outpost in McKinney. The Grind’s menu features burgers like My Boy Blue with Neuske’s applewood smoked bacon, blue cheese, avocado, smoked onion, and baby spinach, or the Umami Tsunami with charred tomato, wild mushrooms, baconnaise, and crispy parmesan cheese. Appetizers include Shiner Bock tempura-battered jalapeños with a yuzu ranch as well as the seven-layer ranch queso with white cheddar, avocado, charred poblanos, brisket, tomato, and sour cream.

At Castle Hills Village Shops, Ramen Izakaya Akira and The Grind join a specialty bakery featured on the Food Network called The London Baker, Peruvian-inspired TBD Kitchen, pizza spot PI.E 3.14 Everyday Eatery, Kanzi Sushi & Hibachi, Z’s Wok, and paleo cafe Sophia’s Kitchen.

Ramen Izakaya Akira is open Tuesday through Saturday 11:30 to 2 p.m. and 5 to 10 p.m., Sunday 5 to 10 p.m. and closed Mondays. The Grind operates Monday through Thursday 3 to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight; Sunday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
