Tacos Galore: Several Openings to Come

Might as well wrap up Dallas in a tortilla

OMG Tacos

Dallas is about to welcome a lot of cuisine from Central and South America in the coming months, but among all of those options, the taco continues to reign supreme. So much so, that Uptown and Oak Lawn are about to see two expansions from fast-growing and well-reputed chains. The success of these businesses isn’t undeserved, and it’s about to get a whole lot more delicious in the near future.

Taqueria La Ventana, from Firebird Restaurant Group, is expanding from its original location off Woodall Rogers (in the same complex as the restaurant’s other holdings El Fenix and Meso Maya) to a brand new spot in the Oak Lawn neighborhood. Fans of the walk-up counter service will have another outpost to enjoy the same menu offerings like quesadillas, bowls, burritos, and of course, tacos when the outfit at 3847 Cedar Springs Road opens in April; let’s not forget their cheap margaritas either.

OMG Tacos owner Holly Nguyen tells Eater that Dallas should expect to see not one, but two locations of a build-your-own tacos, quesadilla, and torta experience in the coming year. One of them isn’t far off. Later this month, OMG Tacos is going into the Cedar Springs Commons (formerly known as Uptown Urban Market) at 2600 Cedar Springs Road. Next up, an expansion to Fort Worth at 3011 Bledsoe Street later in the spring. Both locations will cater to the late-night crowd by staying open until 3 a.m. every day.
