A new fine dining Italian restaurant is opening its doors tonight at The Star in Frisco. That would be Da Mario, a restaurant devoted to Neapolitan pizza, handmade pasta, and more Italian dishes served family-style or individually.

The kitchen is headed up by Corporate Executive Chef Mert Seran and Executive Chef Luigi Iannuario, who will serve dishes like tableside fettuccine alla fiamma (flaming spaghetti) garnished with black truffles and Fiorentina di Black Angus, which is dry-aged for 30 days and wet-aged for another 30 days.

The wine list is full of offerings from all regions of Italy, while guests can order cocktails from a Negroni cart. As for decor, a wood-fired oven takes center stage, along with displays of cheeses, pastas, and other Italian ingredients. Rockwell Group handled the decor, using dark wood, warm golden tones, and hints of deep green.

Da Mario will be open for dinner Monday through Sunday beginning tonight. Lunch service will begin on March 10.
