Wava Halal Grill, a new destination for falafel and gyros prepared to Halal standards, has opened its doors on Greenville Avenue.
According to its Twitter feed, the new restaurant at 3611 Greenville Avenue officially kicked open the doors yesterday. Everything served at Wava is prepared to Halal standards, which govern the slaughter and preparation of meats for people who follow Islamic dining laws. For folks who don’t, the restaurant’s Middle Eastern and Mediterranean fare is still likely to draw crowds.
Wava Halal Grill serves a pretty standard menu of gyros, falafel, kebabs, and bowls, all served with super spicy red and creamy white sauce similar to those on offer at The Halal Guys. Halal hot dogs, cheeseburgers, fries, and fresh fruit smoothies round out the menu, on which virtually every dish is priced under $10.
Wava Halal Grill is now open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.
