Vidorra, a new Mexican eatery that will offer plenty of outdoor patio space, will open its doors in Deep Ellum.

The restaurant will set up shop at 2642 Main Street, inside a prime piece of real estate smack in the middle of Deep Ellum, according to CultureMap. The spot was formerly home to a bar called The Ruby Room, but will get a full revamp complete with ground floor and rooftop patios that will offer diners plenty of opportunities for Deep Ellum people-watching.

Vidorra, which means “the good life,” is coming to the neighborhood courtesy of Milkshake Concepts, the restaurant group behind nearby cocktail bar Stirr and clubby Citizen in Uptown. The group’s newest bar, according to Milkshake co-owner Imran Sheikh, will be “fun — a place that’s approachable — but also serious about the food and drink.”

Deep Ellum is already home to at least a few Mexican restaurants, but Vidorra plans to set itself apart by offering upscale dishes and a vibe that’s suited to socializing. No menu details are available just yet, but the restaurant promises “bold and punchy” flavors within traditional Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine, along with a large tequila selection and solid margarita and cocktail offerings.

Vidorra is expected to debut later this spring. Stay tuned for an official opening date and more details on the menu.
