A Phoenix-based chain, Original ChopShop, is opening its first North Texas location in Las Colinas by mid April with more local outposts soon to follow.

The eatery at 7300 N. MacArthur Boulevard grew to six locations in its home city after launching in 2013. It relocated its corporate offices to Plano in 2016, but had yet to open a local outpost until now. In Las Colinas, the 3,400 square-foot restaurant will accommodate 70 diners among interiors adorned with distressed wood and vintage photography. A 500 square-foot patio strung with Edison bulb lighting will seat an extra 20 people.

Original ChopShop is known for its healthier ingredients and customizable meals that can be adjusted to suit a variety of special diets, including those free of gluten, dairy, lactose and soy, along with vegetarian and vegan options. Bowls featuring grains, greens, and proteins take center stage, like the popular teriyaki chicken bowl with superfoods forbidden rice, brown rice, or sweet potato hash. Sandwiches, salads, fresh-squeezed juices, and protein shakes abound, and early morning diners will find breakfast items like egg wraps, avocado toast, and superfruit bowls topped with acai.

“Dallas is a perfect fit for our first shops outside of Arizona, and our home office team in Plano is thrilled for this next round of growth in our own backyard,” Jason Morgan, CEO of Original ChopShop, said in a statement. Original ChopShop plans to open a University Park outpost and two more in Plano, at the Shops at Legacy and the intersection of Park & Preston.

The Las Colinas outpost will throw open its doors on April 10, and will be open Monday through Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 9 p.m., and until 8 p.m. on Sundays.
