The poultry connoisseurs at Fat Chicken are about to be back at it, after closing up shop in Trinity Groves in December. Fat Chicken served its last meals on New Year’s Eve at the restaurant incubator, but it just found a new home, according to Dallas Culturemap.
Fat Chicken will bring its fried chicken and biscuits to the former location of Andy’s Pizza at 3045 N. Goliad St. in Rockwall, with a slated March opening. “We’d had so many customers from Rockwall who asked if we’d open a Fat Chicken in their area,” manager Linda Mazzei told Dallas Culturemap. “Lo and behold, I found out that Andy’s Pizza in Rockwall was for sale.”
This time though, expect fast-casual service, where the chicken and comfort food dishes are brought out to tables after customers order at the counter. There’s going to be a patio and the menu will be similar to the previous Fat Chicken location, with a few tweaks like meatloaf and short ribs subbing in for lobster corn dogs.
