It looks like Deep Ellum will soon be home to Izkina, a new Spanish-inspired eatery that will serve tapas and pinxtos.

A job posting on Craigslist indicates that the new bar-eatery will set up shop at 2801 Elm Street, either inside or adjacent to the forthcoming Deep Ellum Hostel. That project was expected to debut last year, but is still in the works with plans to bring upwards of 15 beds to the historic 8,000 square foot space.

Izkina will occupy 2,000 square feet in the building, with plans to serve a menu of Spanish dishes, with a specific focus on small bites. In addition to tapas-style plates, the bar will also serve pinxtos, or bite-sized snacks that were traditionally served on toothpicks. In addition to the food, Izkina will serve a menu of classic cocktails, locally-brewed beers, and a wine list dominated by bottles from Spain.

No word yet on when Izkina will make its Deep Ellum debut, but the bar is currently hiring staff. Stay tuned for more details.
