New Bakery Brings Swanky Shortbread Cookies to Lovers Lane

Le Gourmet Baking, a shop that specializes in petite shortbread cookies and to-go lunch items, recently debuted on Lovers Lane.

Owner of Le Gourmet, Becky Nelson, started her business as a meal delivery service catering to Preston Hollow and the Park Cities, before expanding her empire to the signature three-quarter-inch-thick shortbread cookies that would eventually land her in Neiman Marcus’ iconic catalog The Book and online store.

At her new location at 5601 W. Lovers Lane, diners will find takeout options like salads, soups, sandwiches, tartines and a la carte sides, along with kid-friendly options. Neiman Marcus shoppers will notice Le Gourmet’s designs in the shop as well as on the website during major holidays, with the addition of the ladybug design this spring.

“The difference between our cookies and other decorated cookies is ours taste as good as they look,” Nelson said in a statement. She promises her shortbreads are lower in sugar than typical cookies, yet still completely decadent, made with tons of European butter and real vanilla.

Le Gourmet Baking’s hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
