Guatemala’s Favorite Pastry Shop Will Soon Arrive In Uptown

San Martin Bakery heads to Dallas with croissants, pastelitos, and so much more

San Martin Bakery, a Guatemalan sweet shop known for its perfectly flaky pastries, will soon open its doors in Uptown Dallas.

The bakery will arrive in the coming weeks at 3120 McKinney Avenue, according to its Twitter account, bringing a brand new destination for coffee, croissants, bread, sandwiches and more to the neighborhood. Founded in 1974, San Martin Bakery operates nearly 40 locations across Guatemala and El Salvador, where its earned a loyal following for its pastelitos, empanadas, palmeritas, and French breads.

In addition to the pastries, San Martin Bakery will also serve a menu of sandwiches, salads, soups, and of course, burgers. The bakery’s cold brew coffee is reportedly famous, and a menu of boozy options like sangria will also be on offer. Assuming that the Dallas location is like San Martin’s other outposts, expect for it to become an all-day destination in Uptown.

Uptown will have to wait a couple more months for the arrival of San Martin Bakery — it’s expected to open in “mid to late” July. Stay tuned for an official opening date.
