Firefighters in Irving battled a blaze at Restaurante Danals yesterday, but the fire caused a roof collapse at the Mexican restaurant located at 508 N O’Connor Road. NBC reports that first responders arrived at 8 a.m. on Monday to reports of heavy smoke and flames. The roof collapsed as water cannons attempt to extinguish the fire. Dramatic video showed the destruction at the restaurant. Luckily, there’s been no immediate reports of injuries so far.
KRLD reports that the cause of the fire is still unknown and because the building is still unsafe, crews aren’t able to investigate the source of the fire yet. Restaurante Danals had been open for at least two decades, known for its colorful murals, frozen margaritas, and staple menu items like tamales.
