Legendary Texas Rangers catcher and current media personality Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez is getting into the pizza game.
Rodriguez is set to open his very first restaurant, Pudge’s Pizza, at Texas Live, the forthcoming entertainment and dining district in Arlington, reports CultureMap. The pizzeria will be located on the complex’s second floor, bringing a family-friendly dining destination to the massive complex, which will also be home to restaurants from Troy Aikman and spiky-haired Food Network personality Guy Fieri.
It’s unclear exactly what type of pizza will be on offer — New York-style thin crust? Pan pies? Those weird pretzel crust pies served at Globe Life Park? — but the Hall of Famer’s endorsement is likely all it needs to succeed in Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers. “I look forward to seeing all my fans and sharing a good slice of pizza with my Rangers community at Pudge’s Pizza, come August,” Rodriguez said in a statement.
Pudge’s Pizza will debut at Texas Live on August 9.
