CrushCraft Thai, one of the best Thai joints in DFW, will open its second location at The Star in Frisco next Wednesday, August 22.
The new outpost from the colorful Uptown eatery that specializes in organic and locally sourced ingredients will debut at 3675 Gaylord Parkway #1105. Designer Jones Baker envisioned the Frisco space as a vibrant, casual eatery reminiscent of an open-air market with exposed metal, wood-clad walls, and colorful packaging from Asian goods adorning the interior.
At the Frisco location, CrushCraft will serve its brief but solid menu of new-age dishes like tofu fries and the “skinny b*tch salad” alongside traditional Thai curries, noodles, and rice dishes such as the kra pao with ground pork, jasmine rice, fresh basil, bell peppers, onions, and topped with a fried egg. “Some of the traditional techniques and methods to make great Thai food, while admittedly not the most efficient, are somewhat of a lost art,” executive chef and part-owner Kay Ridgway said in a statement. “We take a handmade approach to our cooking and create Thai food with a twist.”
In keeping with its local sourcing, CrushCraft’s entire beer selection is from local breweries and it also has a full bar with a robust rotating cocktail menu. Standout drinks include the Kohconut served in an actual coconut with Malibu coconut rum, Meyer’s dark rum, coconut milk, and fresh young coconut meat, and there’s the coconut “lycheetini” with Deep Eddy vodka, lychee and coconut juices, garnished with a whole pickled lychee fruit.
CrushCraft’s Frisco hours will be Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. until midnight.
