There’s a soft pretzel, and then there’s a Philadelphia-style soft pretzel. That’s according to Brian and Meredith Jaworowski, who are opening Dallas’s first outpost of Philly Pretzel Factory, a Philadelphia-based chain.
“The pretzel itself is totally different. It’s got a crunchy outside, and a soft fluffy inside. It’s almost like a bagel,” explained Brian. “They’re shaped like a paper clip, or a figure-eight.” He’s originally from Philadelphia and he and Meredith tossed around ideas about what Dallas is missing, and landed on pretzels.
The Philly Pretzel Factory will open at 5601 W. Lovers Ln. #130, with a slated opening date of mid-to-late October. The dough is made fresh, and each pretzel is hand-twisted. The 1,000-square-foot store will also be home-base for wholesale operations, with the hopes of selling to businesses, hospitals, and schools.
Besides plain pretzels, expect to find soft pretzel bites, cinnamon twists, pretzel-wrapped hot dogs, and pepperoni pretzel melts at the store, along with ice cream and frozen lemonade. Check out the entire menu here on the chain’s website.
