West Dallas will soon have a new destination for booze and indoor mini golf appropriately named Another Round.
Oak Cliff wife-and-husband duos Alicia and Kendall Spence and Charmaine and Marcus Oladell are behind the project, which is set to debut in a new development at 660 Fort Worth Avenue this spring. The forthcoming development is from Oaxaca Interests, the same group behind neighboring development Sylvan Thirty in West Dallas.
Another Round’s design will be completed by another Oak Cliff resident Patrick Craine of architectural firm Practice. Design details are vague at this point, but the mini golf destination will feature rotating themes with the first being “Oak Cliff Country Club.” A press release describes Another Round as having an “interactive atmosphere” that combines the 12-hole mini golf course and bar area seamlessly.
As far as where the idea came from, Kendall Spence said in a statement that the idea struck him while on family vacation. “We took a fun pit stop to play miniature golf. The lightbulb went off that so much more could be done in the Dallas area to make mini golf contemporary, interactive and -- key for Dallas summers -- indoors,” he says. No word yet on what will be served as far as food and drink are concerned. Stay tuned for that information and Another Round’s official opening date.
