This week, Kurobuta will bring a brand new destination for Japanese cuisine to Carrollton.

The restaurant’s owner tells Eater that it will open at 2625 Old Denton Road, Suite 612, inside the shopping center anchored by H-Mart. The restaurant is focused on two staple Japanese dishes — tonkatsu, or crispy, deep-fried pork cutlets, and springy ramen noodles served in a variety of broths, including miso and pork-based tonkotsu. The official menu hasn’t been released just yet, but diners can look forward to classic fried pork cutlets, deep-fried cheesy katsu, and curries.

With the addition of Kurobuta, this Carrollton shopping center’s dining scene is only getting stronger. It’s already home to a bounty of excellent Korean eateries, including Charm Juk, Ddong Ggo, and Kimchi Stylish Kitchen, and of course, the excellent food court inside H-Mart.

Kurobuta will kick open the doors on Friday, January 25 for a “soft opening.” The official grand opening festivities are set for February 5.
