A month shy of one year after opening its doors in Uptown, innovative taco purveyor OMG Tacos will call it quits this weekend.
The restaurant announced its departure from its location at the Cedar Springs Commons at Gables Villa Rosa on Instagram on Monday night. After earning a devoted following for its Asian-influenced tacos in Richardson, the Uptown outpost of OMG Tacos debuted in February, and a third location in Fort Worth followed in late October of last year. Fortunately, the original location and Fort Worth restaurant remain open, which means that diners will still be able to get their hands on OMG Tacos’s excellent barbacoa and loaded fries.
The farewell post hints at new plans for OMG Tacos, but it’s unclear whether or not that new project will open at this location or a new address. OMG Tacos is set to close its doors on Sunday, January 13. Eater has reached out to Nguyen for more details on the Uptown location’s closure, and plans for the restaurant’s future. We’ll update this post as more information becomes available.
