East Dallas will soon have a chic new dining destination in Blush Modern Eatery, a new restaurant with a focus on sophisticated, European-inflected dishes.

A website for the restaurant indicates that it will debut at Casa Linda Plaza in the coming months with French chef Laurent Poupart at the helm. Dallasites may remember Poupart from his short-lived restaurant JoJo Eating House and Bar, which shuttered in 2013. Prior to that, Poupart spent time in the kitchens at Michelin-starred restaurants in France and New York, and has also worked as a private chef for celebrities like Cindy Crawford and Kevin Costner, according to his website.

Interestingly, Blush’s owners are currently raising funds to complete the project via “house accounts” in addition to seeking traditional investors. These accounts allow diners to essentially pre-pay for up to $10,000 in food at the restaurant. As far as that food is concerned, look forward to dishes like tiger shrimp Catalane, oysters gratin, charcuterie, and grilled Texas quail.

The restaurant’s space, designed by Poupart’s business partner and wife Paige Poupart, is very 2019 with its millennial pink accents, marble and glass cocktail tables, and a periwinkle banquette that spans the length of the restaurant’s back wall. Trendy cane-back chairs will offer additional seating, while an outdoor patio will boast live music on the weekends.

Eater has reached out to Blush Modern Eatery for more details on its arrival. Stay tuned for an update.
