Stirr opens its second Dallas location next week in Forth Worth, hoping to fill up nearby college students on sharable cocktails, local beers, and purple-hued elixirs honoring Texas Christian University’s colors.
The 10,000-square-foot American eatery slides into the former Kona Grill space (3028 Crockett Street), complete with a 250-person dining area and room for 80 on its patio. Stirr comes from Milkshake Concepts, the hospitality group behind Vidorra, Citizen and Serious Pizza. The inaugural Stirr debuted in Deep Ellum in 2016.
The latest location features 20 TVs to catch games, and Stirr plans to offer a 10-percent discount to students with a valid ID. It’s also easy to save money during weekday happy hour, when food and drinks are slashed in half.
The tequila-heavy cocktail menu also includes a “You Up” vodka martini energized with cold brew.
The expansive menu from James Beard-nominated chef Joey Ryholt includes starters, salads, tacos, flatbreads, and meaty mains like a 21-day dry-aged ribeye, grilled quail, pork chops, and kobe beef burgers. Other offerings include fritto misto; hot chicken with house blue cheese dipping sauce; and flatbreads like a Notorious P.I.G with spicy sopressata, mozzarella, and Texas red pepper jelly.
