Yesterday was opening day for sports lounge Trophy Park USA, Frisco’s new family-friendly destination complete with meaty “Trophy” platters, 42-oz. Tomahawk ribeyes, bocce, and craft cocktails.

The new 13,000-square-foot restaurant in the Star District (6770 Winning Drive) is jam packed with entertainment options, including two spacious patios with bowling, bocce ball, and live music. For serious gaming geeks, private booths offer access to interactive consoles. There’s also a large outdoor patio screen designed for al fresco sports viewing.

Executive chef Johnathon Pauley’s surf-and-turf resume includes opening Water Grill Dallas and J2 Steakhouse. The menu, broken down into playful sports-themed categories called “warmups”, “big plays”, and “hail marys,” delivers upscale riffs on bar fare.

Starters include Kung Pao cauliflower, salmon tartare and ceviche, and venison meatballs, followed by short rib grilled cheese, King crab legs, and arctic char with chili honey glaze, asparagus and lemon cream.

Splurges include seafood towers and a meat lover’s “Trophy Platter” featuring prime tomahawk ribeye, a hot dog, cheeseburger, bone marrow, prosciutto, duck egg, and 12-oz. New York strip.

The lineup is also filled out by flatbreads, salads, and sides. Hours kick off daily at 11 a.m., until midnight Sunday to Thursday and 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
