Diners can now officially score a table at Ellie’s, a chic new Arts District dining destination that’s set to open its doors this week.
A post to the restaurant’s Instagram account indicates that it is currently accepting reservations for dinner service starting on Friday, December 6. Situated within the Hall Arts Hotel at 1717 Leonard Street, the restaurant’s stunning space includes a ritzy terrace boasting views of Downtown Dallas’s Texas Sculpture Walk, along with live music and entertainment five nights a week.
Chef Eric Dreyer, a Fearing’s alum who most recently worked as Oprah Winfrey’s personal chef, will helm the kitchen at Ellie’s. As a hotel restaurant, Ellie’s will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with offering in-room dining for guests. The Napa-inspired menu includes freshly made pastas, a burger, salads, and what looks to be an extremely fancy eggs Benedict that’s served on potato latkes with shaved corn beef, poached eggs, and creme fraiche.
The restaurant is named for HALL Group founder Craig Hall’s late mother Ellie Hall, as a tribute to her memory. Though the restaurant originally focused its branding efforts on female empowerment, the team has since pivoted, zeroing in on the qualities of “compassion, independence, and tenacity” that Ellie Hall represented, in both the menu and the space’s design. That, of course, makes sense, considering that the restaurant hired a male executive chef and general manager Bhuvanesh Khanna, also a man, to lead the team at Ellie’s.
Opening on Friday, diners can now make reservations at Ellie’s via OpenTable.
