Ding Tea, a Taiwanese export known for its wildly popular boba tea drinks, will open a second DFW outpost in Richardson.

A Facebook page created for the new boba tea shop indicates that it is set to arrive at 581 West Campbell Road in Richardson in the coming weeks. The Richardson location will join a Ding Tea outpost that opened in Arlington back in 2018. Despite its relatively small local presence, the chain operates more than 350 locations in Asia, along with shops in Southern California and Las Vegas. Earlier this year, Ding Tea opened its first Texas locations in Houston.

Traditional boba tea flavors like matcha, taro, lychee and wintermelon are on offer at Ding Tea, but its most popular option is the “Monster,” a riff on the trendy brown sugar boba drink that’s been all over Instagram throughout 2019. In Houston, the shop even allows patrons to customize their boba tea cups with emojis, pictures, and text that’s imprinted onto the lid of the drink.

Eater has reached out to Ding Tea for more details on when it will arrive in Richardson. Stay tuned for an update.
