More dogs — and dog owners — will soon get to experience the joy of having a Mutts Canine Cantina in the neighborhood. The dog park/bar/eatery that originally debuted in Uptown just opened its second location in Fort Worth in September, where it serves craft beer and “Barkaritas” at the bar and burgers and milkshakes for humans. The outposts feature private dog parks for both large and small dogs, with memberships available for owners.
According to a press release, Mutts just signed its second multi-unit franchise deal for the state of Texas. So far, two more locations are slated to open within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, which will bring the total number of outposts to four. There are plans for additional dog park dining and drinking destinations, too. Franchisees are looking at opening Mutts Canine Cantina locations in neighborhoods like Frisco, Southlake, and Allen.
Nationwide expansion isn’t out of the question, either. “MUTTS is a unique place that brings people and their pups together from communities far and wide,” Michelle Boggs, managing partner of MUTTS Canine Cantina, said in the release. “Although Texas is the brand’s home state, we’re eager to share the same joy that our current members experience with other markets across the U.S.”
