Sonic hosts a summer block party in Dallas this Thursday with freebies
On April 25, fast food chain Sonic is bringing its 15-foot food truck to Dallas as the final stop on its #SonicBlockParty tour. The Sonic truck will be parked at Truck Yard Dallas at 5624 Sears St. from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday. Score free swag and try complimentary menu items like ice cream cookie sandwiches and the yet-to-be released Red Bull Slush.
Golden Chick’s New Sister Restaurant is a Taco Joint
Happy Taco opened this week in Garland, right next to its sister restaurant Golden Chick. CultureMap Dallas reports on the new taco shop, which sells habanero fried chicken tacos and coconut-crusted shrimp tacos, with plans to open more locations.
Plano Will Soon Be Home to a Desert Shop Named “Better Than Sex”
The Dallas Observer interviews the husband-and-wife team bringing Key West’s Better Than Sex dessert shop to Plano, complete with desserts with dubious names like “Man Flower” and “Gang Bang.”
“Yes, there are innuendos on the menu,” co-owner Derek Miller told the Observer. “But the atmosphere is classy, romantic, and the desserts are a master craft of perfection.”
A Jimmy John’s near SMU’s campus was the scene of workplace violence
Police are investigating reports of a stabbing at the Jimmy John’s at 6411 Hillcrest near SMU’s campus. An employee of the sandwich shop reportedly stabbed a coworker and then fled, according to CBS DFW.
