A new beer garden is under construction at the Skellig

Henderson Avenue watering hole The Skellig is building a beer garden, per the Dallas Observer, and not just any beer garden. The fire pit-equipped space will feel like “Irish pubs whose business literally spills out to the garden on the not-too-frequent good weather days in Ireland,” Pubsmith’s operations manager Charles Reiss told the publication.

Texas craft brewers are one step closer to selling beer to go

Dallas News reports that a bill to allow craft brewers to sell to-go beer unanimously passed in the Texas Senate on Wednesday evening. “Everyone needs to pop a top to that one,” Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said after the vote, and the bill now heads to the House.

The Dallas Farmers Market gets a new bar

Beer pop-up The 2nd Tap is opening by late spring at at the Dallas Farmers Market, CultureMap Dallas reports. There will be more than beer too: find wine, bloody Marys, cider, and mimosas — and non-alcoholic options like kombucha and ginger beer.
