Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken will land in Deep Ellum
Almost three years after opening its first DFW outpost in Fort Worth, famed Memphis chain Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken will open a location in Dallas proper. According to CultureMap, the new destination for spicy fried chicken is set to open its doors at 2904 Commerce Street sometime this summer, which is welcome news for people who aren’t willing to make the long haul to Fort Worth for some spicy yardbird.
Dallas restaurants still dealing with post-storm drama
The massive storms on Sunday that left thousands of people in DFW without power are having an equally frustrating impact on the city’s restaurants. According to D Magazine, many restaurants across the city were affected by everything from water leaks to extended power outages, which forced their proprietors to seek out generators, dry ice, and other ways to preserve the food stored in their kitchens. Others served record crowds of people who were, undoubtedly, unable to cook at home.
