Richardson’s Good Union BBQ, a new destination for smoked meats of all kinds, has officially opened its second location in Plano.
The restaurant just opened its doors at 5880 State Highway 121, Suite 103-1, inside Plano’s Boardwalk at Granite Park development, where it joins newcomers like the Biscuit Bar and Union Bear Brewing. It’s the second outpost of Good Union, which debuted in 2015 at CityLine in Richardson. Good Union BBQ will, like most Dallas barbecue joints, focus on the Central Texas style of barbecue, along with offering plenty of dishes that don’t exactly fit that traditional definition.
Diners can look forward to smoked Prime brisket, glazed ham, burnt ends, and pepper-crusted smoked turkey, along with sides like green chili cornbread and mac and cheese. Sandwiches, barbecue-topped salads, and desserts like fried pies and banana pudding round out the menu. Cocktails like frozen margaritas and plenty of beer will be available to wash down all those smoked meats. In the mornings, breakfast tacos stuffed with egg, burnt ends, pulled pork, and more will be on offer.
Good Union BBQ is now open for dinner service from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Starting August 5, the restaurant will open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at 8 a.m.
