The Taco Truck Tammy video was spread by Russian propagandists
Earlier this year, Eater reported on a Dallas woman dubbed “Taco Truck Tammy” who went viral after threatening to call ICE on a taco truck parked outside her home. Now, new research from cyber experts at Clemson University indicates that Russian propagandists were instrumental in helping those videos go viral. According to NBC Nightly News, the taco truck video was one of many spread by Russian troll accounts to reportedly “spread racial tensions” in the United States.
Mi Lindo Oaxaca has closed
Pour one out for Mi Lindo Oaxaca, the beloved Oak Cliff Mexican restaurant officially closed its doors earlier this week. According to the Dallas Observer, owner Honorio Garcia has now opened a new restaurant called El Oaxaqueño Panadería y Taquería at 2324 West Clarendon Drive, and Mi Lindo Oaxaca’s former home is now up for lease.
Cajun fried chicken flies into Plano
Tasty’s Chicken, a new spot for Cajun-style fried chicken and seafood from a Louisiana native, has opened in Plano. The new restaurant just debuted at 705 West Park Boulevard, according to CultureMap, with a focus on chicken tenders tossed in spicy or lemon pepper seasoning.
