No. 1 Plus Chicken, one of DFW’s finest destinations for shatteringly crisp Korean fried chicken, has a Richardson location in the works.

A tipster pointed Eater in the direction of signage going up at 2115 East Belt Line Road, and permit applications filed with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts confirm that the fried chicken favorite is headed to that address. What is unclear, though, is whether or not this is a new location, or whether the original in Dallas’s Koreatown will move to Richardson.

For those who are unfamiliar with No. 1 Plus Chicken’s offerings, Korean fried chicken is obviously the focus. Served “original,” soy-glazed, and slathered in sautéed garilc or sweet-spicy sauce, the fried chicken here is a favorite of local chefs and critics. Oven baked chicken is also an option, as are side dishes like classic Korean corncheese, fried dumplings, and kimchi fries.

Eater has reached out to No. 1 Plus Chicken for more details on its expansion to Richardson, but expect the restaurant to open soon — its sales tax permit is active starting in December. Stay tuned for an official opening date.
