A new bistro from the team behind North Henderson hotspots like Barcadia and Felix Culpa will open next week on Ross Avenue.

Dahlia Bar & Bistro, an upscale neighborhood bar serving Southern European cuisine, will open for dinner on Thursday, October 8. The restaurant is located in the former Ross and Hall digs at 3300 Ross Avenue. Dahlia is the work of twin brothers Mark and Chris Beardon, who also own spots like Truth & Alibi in Deep Ellum.

The menu will include both casual appetizers, such as whipped feta dip and tender steamed mussels, and more decadent dinners, like the butternut squash ravioli topped with brown sage butter, scallop and mushroom risotto, and herb-crusted lamb chops.

As the bistro’s name implies, floral and herbal influences permeate the space and the menu. (Dahlia flowers are relatives of sunflowers and have been used in cooking for centuries.) Cocktails include drinks like the Bend and Snap, with sugar snap peas, lemongrass and gin, and the Texas Sour, with rye, egg white and lavender accents.

The restaurant will be open for dinner from 4 p.m. to midnight Tuesdays through Thursdays, and until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. It’ll also offer a weekend brunch, starting at 10:30 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Check out the full menu and hours here.
