Smoked meat sensation Heim Barbecue has officially arrived in Dallas, which means that barbecue enthusiasts won’t have to make the trek to Fort Worth any longer for an order of bacon burnt ends.
Situated at 3130 West Mockingbird Lane in the space that formerly housed Mockingbird Diner, just a stone’s throw away from Love Field, Heim’s first Dallas location is seriously expansive. It occupies more than 5,000 square feet, and the aesthetic is modern Texas barbecue joint, with non-nonsense tabletops and steel chairs scattered throughout the space. Outdoors, there’s a patio that sporst a line of canopy-covered bench seating for patrons looking to enjoy their brisket al fresco.

Those who are familiar with Heim’s offerings at the Fort Worth locations will be pleased to see that the menu remains mostly unchanged for the Mockingbird outposts. Smoked meats by the pound, sandwiches, and sides like green chile mac and cheese and twice-baked potato salad. Breakfast tacos are available in the morning, and there’s also burgers and corn dogs on the menu for folks who aren’t feeling barbecue.

Now open, Heim is already attracting (socially distant) lines Wednesday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. If you want bacon burnt ends, get there early.
