SomiSomi, a Korean ice cream shop known for its ice cream stuffed, fish-shaped taiyaki, will open its second DFW outpost in Carrollton.

A release from property developer NewQuest indicates that the chain has leased a 2,389 square foot space inside the Carrollton Town Center at George Bush and Old Denton Road in Carrollton. Its arrival follows the first SomiSomi location in DFW, which opened in Frisco in February 2019.

For those who haven’t made the trek to Frisco to try SomiSomi’s sweets, the shop serves swirls of brightly colored soft-serve in flavors like matcha, Oreo cookie, and banana into soft, warm taiyaki cones that have been filled with custard, red bean, or taro paste. Once loaded down with ice cream, the taiyaki are garnished with toppings like fruit, cereal, candy, and matcha powder. There’s also a savory cheddar taiyaki option, and cups for those who just want soft-serve.

Stay tuned for more details on when SomiSomi will open in Carrollton.
