Uptown hangout Ill Minster Pub cashes in on the blockbuster Star Wars franchise for its latest themed takeover, reports CultureMap.
The galactic “Ill Minster Cantina” pop-up kicked off on Saturday, February 15, with all kinds of kitsch — think DJ Chewy and Han Solo-inspired drink served in a Solo cup.
Ill Minster Pub is a pro at the pop-up game (2600 Cedar Springs Road), temporarily transforming into pop culture temples to the Game of Thrones and Nightmare Before Christmas. Its latest is a timely one: Disney’s final installment of the Skywalker saga, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, has made over $1 billion worldwide since its December release.
Themed cocktails include a Consider the Leia (Patron coffee liqueur, vodka, and Rumchata), finished with mini cinnamon bun cereal toppings inspired by Princess Leia’s iconic pinwheeled hairstyle. A Baby Yoda themed drink is made with vodka and green melon liqueur, and garnished with limes to resemble The Child’s iconic ears.
The bar closed for a week to redecorate with on-point movie memorabilia. There’s a huge six-foot Millennium Falcon model dangling above drinkers, a towering Chewbacca, Darth Vader wedged between two Stormtroopers, and a twinkling ceiling to offset its new Death Star-themed bathrooms. Of course, the cult films will also play on repeat across most of its TVs.

Dallas’s cheesy pop-up streak appears to have no end in sight. Popular Knox-Henderson watering hole The Whippersnapper recently transformed into a hilarious ode to The Office.
