SoCal-born sweets chain The Baked Bear debuts its gigantic ice cream sandwiches at The Colony next month.

The inaugural Dallas location — and fifth in Texas — is scheduled to arrive mid-March in the massive mixed-used Grandscape development (5752 Grandscape Boulevard).

The shop specializes in custom ice cream sandwiches, built with freshly-baked cookies and brownies and rolled through offbeat toppings like Fruity Pebbles and Oreo crumble. Other core offerings include hand-churned scoops in flavors like Blackberry Crumble and Toasted S’mores and a rotating cookie of the month.

Founders Rob Robbins and Shane Stanger grew up together in San Diego with a childhood pact to open a restaurant one day, and the brand has ballooned to 25 locations coast to coast in seven years.

The latest 1,100-square-foot location in Dallas will be operated by local owner Shaila Kabani.

The 400-acre Berkshire Hathaway complex is prepping to welcome a sea of new dining options this year, including recently announced Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse out of Colorado.
