Fans of quintessential Dallas street food elotes need to get to Locura, which slathers its corn on the cob with gourmet toppings like truffle, pesto, and lemon pepper wing. There’s also snack food-inspired elote flavors like a “Takis” version and one inspired by Cool Ranch Doritos. The Dallas Morning News reports all the details on Locura, which is open at 839 Singleton Blvd. #150 in Dallas.
Get ready for bagel sandwiches from Shug’s
Central Track reports that a new bagel shop will debut later this month at at 3020 Mockingbird Lane near SMU from an alum. Justin Shugrue is trying to bring NY-style bagels to Dallas, with a wide array of bagel flavors and cream cheese flavors. Also find toppings like lox, and chicken cutlet sandwiches to go along with bagel sandwiches.
Greenville Avenue Pizza Company has its own anthem
The hold music for Greenville Avenue Pizza Company’s phone number is an original tune called Pizza Man, and the Dallas Observer is really it. “It marks the first time in the history of ordering pizza over the phone that I didn’t care how long the wait was — this song slaps,” Nick Rallo writes.
