The owner of local fancy toast chain Toasted Coffee & Kitchen is turning his attention to smoothies. Bob Sinnott announced that in addition to Toasted, he’s launching a new business called Smoothie Run. It’s exactly like it sounds, with smoothies available to go. The drinks are available for delivery through Caviar and Favor (and will soon expand to other delivery platforms), and according to Instagram, in-store pickup is also a possibility.
“Toasted currently has under-utilized equipment and staff,” Sinnott said in a press release. “Our team of chefs, baristas, and cooks is extremely talented. Rather than furlough staff, I tasked them with creating healthy and delicious smoothie recipes.”
There are 10 different choices of drinks, ranging from The “Super Freak” with bananas, cold-brew coffee, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon to “Beach Therapy” with pineapple, bananas, spinach, coconut water, agave, and chia seeds. Every smoothie can be pumped up with pea protein, why protein, and/or CBD oil.
Smoothie Run isn’t the only new delivery-only spot opening this month during the coronavirus pandemic: Zalat Pizza just opened a new location on Lemmon Ave. as a “ghost kitchen” focusing solely on to-go orders.
