Amid the coronavirus pandemic, members of the Asian American community have reported experiencing more racism than before, and the employees at DFW taco chain OMG Tacos are no exception.

In a Facebook post earlier this week, the chain announced that it’s fighting back against this spike in racism against Asian Americans, and will ban anyone who comes into the restaurant acting like an “ignorant racist jerk” for life. “We’ve had several customers ask if our Asian staff members have coronavirus within just the last week. That is absolutely unacceptable,” the post reads. “If you are racist, ignorant, aggressive, or threatening toward our staff in any way, we will absolutely refuse to serve you. You will also be banned from our establishments for life.”

Perhaps not surprisingly, OMG Tacos’s strong anti-racism stance attracted some trolls on Facebook, who claimed that the incidences of customers asking if the restaurant’s employees were infected with coronavirus never happened. “Our amazing customers have been keeping us so busy with all the support that we definitely don’t have time to make up stories about the racism we’ve experienced at our stores,” the restaurant countered in a follow-up. “We also don’t need to make up stories to gain more business, we already have an incredible community that’s been supporting us since day one.”

OMG Tacos operates multiple restaurants across DFW, including outposts in Fort Worth, Richardson, and The Colony.
