After what feels like an eternity of waiting, much-anticipated Filipino fried chicken chain Jollibee will finally open its doors in August.

Rumors have circled for weeks that the Plano outpost of Jollibee will open its doors at 1016 Preston Road in August, and its opening date was originally set for August 17. According to CultureMap, the official debut is now set for August 20, and fried chicken enthusiasts should expect lengthy lines when it arrives.

The arrival of Jollibee has been the source of much speculation among serious fans of the chain, which was originally set to open sometime this spring.

Jollibee’s opening has been pushed back multiple times, but construction on the space is fully completed and an employee at the Plano outpost told YouTuber Graciegrace89 to expect it to open sometime in mid-August. Scope out her pre-opening walk-through of the space below:

For those who are unfamiliar with Jollibee’s cult-favorite fried chicken, look forward to crispy yardbird served with comforting sides like mashed potatoes and gravy, steamed rice, and corn, along with classic Filipino dishes like palabok pancit, gravy-smothered burger steak, and breakfast plates served with longanisa sausage or corned beef. Jollibee’s spaghetti, made with a sweet sauce and chunks of hot dog, is also a beloved dish.

Eater has reached out to Jollibee for confirmation of this opening date, and more details on its hours of operation. Stay tuned for more details.
