Lucky’s Hot Chicken, a brand new destination for super-spicy, Nashville-style fried chicken, is officially ready to make its debut in East Dallas.

The restaurant is set to open its doors on Monday, September 21 at 4505 Gaston Avenue, in the storied space where Dallas restaurateur Norman Brinks opened his very first restaurant in 1964. Now, the location’s been given a midcentury revamp, complete with checkered vinyl flooring, a diner-style, aluminum-banded countertop, and vintage opal glass pendant lights. An outdoor patio boasts picnic tables topped with red-and-white umbrellas.

As far as the food is concerned, look forward to Nashville-style fried chicken, available in five different spice levels that range from the milder “kinda lucky” to the ultra-spicy “best of luck.” Chicken tenders, wings, and sandwiches are on the menu, along with sides like mac and cheese, baked beans, and buttered collard greens and soft-serve ice cream to cool the burn. Chef Josh Bonee, a Nashville transplant who came up under Sean Brock, will lead the kitchen.

When Lucky’s Hot Chicken opens its doors today, the restaurant will serve its chicken at the counter, curbside pickup, and delivery via UberEats from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Orders can be placed via Lucky’s website.
