Village Baking Co., the artisan bread destination that supplies baked goods to some of Dallas’s favorite restaurants, has opened another boulangerie in the Knox District. The restaurant, at 4539 Travis Street, opened on Wednesday, January 13.

The shop is the work of bakers Clint and Kim Cooper, who first started baking from their home in 2004. After Clint traveled to San Francisco and France to study Old World baking techniques, he and his wife founded the business in 2012 with a wholesale bakery and boulangerie in University Park. That storefront later moved to the Design District, and a second location was added on Lower Greenville in 2015, making the Knox District location the third.

The bakery is known for using flours made with high-quality Texas wheat, and the restaurant’s menu includes classic French breakfast bites like pain au chocolat, croque monsuiers, quiches and coffee, alongside kouign-amann pastries, duck confit sandwiches and macarons. The new restaurant also features an extended patio for open-air dining, as well as takeout and delivery through Uber Eats and Grubhub.

The Knox District location is open every day, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
