Bonchon, the cult-favorite Korean chain known for its ridiculously crispy fried chicken, will make a triumphant return to the metroplex this week.

The chain is set to open its first Dallas outpost in more than five years at 4980 Belt Line Road, Suite 140, on Thursday, February 25, according to a press release. The location will open not too far away from Bonchon’s new corporate headquarters, which opened in Dallas last year. Now that the chain calls DFW home, it’s making a second go at opening multiple locations across the region.

In 2014, Bonchon made its much-hyped Dallas debut on Greenville Avenue, only to shutter seven months after it opened. The chain has been making a big comeback in Texas in recent months, with seven outposts including a restaurant that recently opened in The Colony. A third is expected to open in DFW in the coming months, though no address has been announced just yet for that outpost.

For the uninitiated, Bonchon is known for its shatteringly crisp chicken wings that are slathered in a sweet-spicy or soy-garlic sauce. Snacks like potstickers, fried rice, and kimchi mac and cheese are also on the menu, along with plates like chicken katsu and Korean-style tacos that involve fried chicken or bulgogi-style beef tucked into flour tortillas with spicy mayo, ranch, and red onions.

Bonchon will open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Curbside pickup is an option, along with delivery via mobile apps like DoorDash and UberEats.
