A new restaurant is set to bring crispy, Japanese-style chicken katsu curry to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex soon.

Fast casual chain Go! Go! Curry!, first founded in Kanazawa, Japan in 2004, will make its North Texas debut at 8240 Preston Rd #175 in Plano sometime this summer. When it does, it’ll bring umami-packed dishes like breaded chicken cutlets, or katsu, topped with a rich curry sauce and served with toppings like sweet pickled shallots, boiled eggs, cheese, pickled radish, and fermented soybean. Other protein options include pork, sausage, tofu, and shrimp tempura.

In addition to Japanese-style curry, the restaurant is also known for its “genki” vibe, or vibrant spirit and energy.

Go! Go! Curry! first made its US debut in 2007, with a location in Times Square. In 2018, the chain landed in Texas, its first major expansion outside of the East Coast, with a location in Houston’s Asiatown. At the time, a representative for the chain said they hoped to open 55 more locations in the U.S. and Canada by 2022. No word yet if more of those outposts will open in the Dallas area.

Stay tuned for an exact date on the Plano Go! Go! Curry!’s opening.
