A new restaurant with a large outdoor dining space is set to bring Southern Californian food truck-style fare to Plano later this summer.

The cheekily named Suburban Yacht Club, from 33 Restaurant Group, is expected to open in June 2021 on The Boardwalk at Granite Park. That’s the same restaurant group behind Union Bear Brewing Company and Cadillac Pizza Pub in McKinney, Taverna Rossa Craft Pizza in Plano, and Heritage Pizza in The Colony.

Instead of pizza, Suburban Yacht Club will instead focus on Southern Californian comfort food, including crispy pork carnitas, quesabirria, fish tacos, and ceviche, as well as food truck and street food-inspired dishes like Flamin’ Hot Cheetos elote. The kitchen will be run by Chef Brandon Pappalardo, formerly of The Grape, with influence from 33 Restaurant Group culinary director (and former Grape owner) Brian Luscher.

The bar menu takes inspiration from topical flavors, and will feature frozen cocktails, sangria and a signature Scorpion Bowl, a shareable tiki drink usually made with a mix of light and dark rums and pineapple juice. With its location on the boardwalk, the restaurant will face the small lake at Granite Park, adding to the suburban tiki vibe with a spacious outdoor patio.

Suburban Yacht Club will be located at 5872 TX-121 in Plano, and already has a Facebook page. Stay tuned for more details closer to the restaurant’s June opening.
