A ‘Friends’ Themed Pop-Up Bar Brings Iconic Fictional Coffee Shop Central Perk to Dallas This Fall

The Instagrammer’s paradise will temporarily take over the Shops at Willow Bend starting in November

Next month, a new pop-up bar inspired by iconic ‘90s sitcom Friends will descend on Plano, bringing it with it all the comforts of fictional New York coffee shop Central Perk.

Called the Friends Experience, the pop-up is set to make its debut on November 4 at the Shops at Willow Bend in Plano, according to a press release. Born in Atlanta, the pop-up has earned raves from Friends obsessives thanks to its plentiful Instagram opportunities in some of the show’s most recognizable moments and sets, including Monica and Rachel’s kitchen, Ugly Naked Guy, and of course, Central Perk.

At previous pop-ups in Boston and Atlanta, the Friends Experience menu included treats like The One Where They All Turn 30 Sprinkled Birthday Donut, Monica’s “Good Time” Chocolate Cake, and Ross’s Blueberry Bribe Muffin. The experience is mostly about the Instagram opportunities, though, and there will be plenty — the event boasts 12 different “set recreations” where patrons can pose and recreate the show’s most iconic scenes.

The pop-up is just the latest in a series of pop-ups inspired by nostalgic television favorites. In the past couple of years alone, temporary bars inspired by The Office, The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Breaking Bad, among other pop culture favorites, have popped up in Dallas.

Timed tickets for the Friends Experience start at around $33, and the event runs through January 17.
